I'm back.

Up and going

After many years of reworking my website in various technologies from simple plain HTML, ASP.net, MVC3, my original site was never relaunched and life just kind of got a hold of me so I never got around to relaunching it. I had a bit of a revelation last year when my uncle passed and I realized that I needed to do this.

I figured I would simply throw up a WordPress site and I would be off to the races but I’m a curious one so once I started digging into the different type of WordPress frameworks that were out there, I had to try a few until I found one that was just right. Something that allowed me to customize the UI the way I wanted to but not overly convoluted. As I experimented, I was amazed to see how far Content Management Systems (CMS) have come in the past 10 years and where they are headed. To have this kind of tech back when I started web development would have been sweet indeed.

I look at the work that needs to be done for the content on this site and while it a bit daunting (150+ articles from notes of all my trips that I’ve done to catch up to present day) but the end result is too rewarding for me to pass up. While I am playing catchup, I will ensure that I keep current with my latest adventures. I’m also throwing up a portfolio area for my photography as I have been dabbling in it for the past 3-4 years and I’ve trying to put more time into that passion so hopefully there will be some interesting stuff in there.
